So much for keeping up....

So it's only been six and a half months since I last posted something. Not at all shocking. What have we been up to these last six or so months? Mostly the same. Just our daily lives of going to work and school, and of course the usual birthday and holiday events. I am still working across the lake and I still not liking the commute. Thank goodness school is over in about a month and the traffic will lighten up. I've got my fingers crossed!

Morgan is just as cute and crazy as ever. Last week we registered her for Kindergarten. Amazingly enough I did not have a meltdown at school. It's so hard to believe that the little baby I came home from the hospital with is going to be starting "real" school in just a few months. She is so excited. Although, she does have some concerns. Apparently her daddy told her she has to wear the same thing to school everday. She took this literally and has been thinking that she will have to wear the same pieces of clothing everyday. I assured her that was not the case and that she would have options. Five and she already has such strong opinions about what she wears. Can you imagine my life in about 10 years???

This weekend Morgan is going to a tea party birthday party. Should be super cute. They get to dress up and have their hair and nails done. Then they have a fashion show afterwards. Oh my. If I get organized enough I will try to post again with pictures. Fingers crossed!

It's been forever!

Since I'm fairly certain no one is reading this blog, I am going to try and use it as a journal to keep track of things Morgan does. Although I am about four and a half years behind in the game. Oh, well, what else is new.

Yesterday and today daycare had fall pictures. We didn't know about this until yesterday afternoon when Bryan picked up Morgan. I guess that's what happens when you're out of town for a few days. Well she insisted on having her picture taken yesterday and I can only imagine how frightful her hair must have looked. Daddy has not mastered fixing hair so the best he can do is spray it and brush it. Morgan also insisted on wearing some ballerina tutu outfit from one of the playcenters. Everyone there said she looked so cute and totally hammed it up for the camera. Imagine that! Being slightly neurotic when it comes to how my child looks, I could not let that be the picture that we give out to everyone. So this morning I dressed her in her adorable smocked LSU dress and matching bow. And of course she was adorable. The report from Bryan (because I made him stay until her picture was done so he could change her out of the rather expensive dress and into something that I could care less if it get destroys at school) is that it was basically a mini fashion shoot. Morgan was again working the camera. Apparently they had LSU pompoms and she just ate it up. I can't wait to see the pictures. I have a feeling I am going to be dropping some serious money on all of the pictures my little fashion plate posed for.

Not much else is going on. It's pretty much the same old thing for us every day. We do get to see the twins this weekend for their baptism. I am dreading having to make another road trip after just coming back from the beach, but it's for a good reason!

I'll have to try and figure out how to upload pictures so anyone who may happen to stumble upon this blog can actually see the little diva I'm talking about.

Here's hoping to another post in less than a year's time!!

A few quips from Morgan

I actually remembered a few funny things Morgan has said lately. My favorite by far is what she told me the other night after she had a very small accident in her panties. Now, the girl has been potty trained for over a year, but she does what probably all small kids do, and waits until the very last second. Well, the other night I heard her go to the bathroom, then after a minute or so I hear, "Mom. Can you bring me some more panties?" So I go into the bathroom to see what transpired. I didn't lose my cool, but I did ask her what happened. Of course I get a blank stare from her. So I then proceed to tell her for the umpteenth time that she should not wait so long before she goes. Then she looks at me with the utmost seriousness and tells me, "I waited too long and my butt pooped by itself. That's why I have to change my panties." I am cracking up just remembering it.

One of our all time favorite sayings happened when we were on vacation in North Carolina last October. Morgan had only been potty trained for less than two months, so we were constantly going to the bathroom to avoid any accidents. We were at dinner one night and she said she had to go potty. I was so exhausted from always bringing her I asked Bryan if he would take her since there were absolutely no other people in the restaurant. He obliged and off they went. Once they returned to the table Bryan was going to pick up Morgan and put her back in the booster seat. She apparently did not want any help so she slams her hand on the table and says, "Dammit, Bryan!" We were all in tears from laughing so hard.

My other favorite happened just a week after we returned from our mountain vacation last year. Bryan had a conference in Baton Rouge, so it was just me and the Mo one Friday night. I was eating dinner at the kitchen table and she was having a conversation with her fish in the aquarium. She asked me if she could touch the fish. I told her no that fish really do not like to be touched by people. Well, before I knew it, she had her hand in the aquarium up to her elbow. I of course fussed at her and told her to remove her hand and arm from the aquarium. She then looks at me with pure disgust and tells me, "Just chill out." Didn't so much laugh at that one.

I will try and do better about posting all the wild and crazy things she does and says.

Thanks!

My, how the time flies!!

I can't seem to log back into the old blog to do any updating, so I created a new one. I will try to post actually stories about the many adventures of life with Miss Morgan. I absolutely cannot believe that in less than four months she will be four years old. FOUR YEARS OLD. When the heck did that happen???? It does not seem that long at all. I swear it was just yesterday that we came home with this little bitty baby. And now we have a big girl. And Heaven forbid you don't call her a big girl. We'll just let you try that experiment all on your own.

Currently, Morgan is in the Older 3's class at daycare. This is something she is not totally thrilled about. We're not sure what this is about. She is just desperate to be in Mrs. Kerri's class. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. She started taking dance classes about a month ago. She seems to be doing pretty good and except for one class, she is liking is so far.

She is still as smart as a whip and sassy as ever. She very much knows what she wants and what she doesn't. And I think I've created a monster when it comes to shopping. We were at Target yesterday and she was on a roll just throwing stuff in the basket.

I'm at a loss for any cute stories about things she's said or done lately. No doubt she will say something clever soon enough.

I will try my best to keep up with posting!!
